Alayah Washington

Alayah Washington is a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Urban Juris, a legal lifestyle brand and community dedicated to advancing Justice. Culture. Elevation. A Montgomery, Alabama native and first-generation law student, she earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. Through Urban Juris, Alayah creates spaces where legal professionals, law students, and aspiring advocates can build community, embrace their identities, and engage with the law in ways that are both meaningful and accessible.

At its core, Urban Juris is rooted in the belief that excellence and authenticity can coexist. Alayah is passionate about cultivating a community where BIPOC professionals and students are empowered to thrive, lead, and redefine what success in the legal profession can look like. Through storytelling, education, and cultural connection, Alayah uses Urban Juris to raise awareness of legal issues, civic engagement, and pathways into the profession. Her work is guided by the belief that access to justice starts with access to education, and access to education starts with awareness. By helping people see themselves reflected in law, she seeks to expand opportunity and inspire the next generation of advocates and changemakers.
